Cookies Of Love By 98 Year Old Grandfather

Leo Kellner (98) is a widower with the death of his wife in 24 years ago. He fills his days with making and baking cakes. It was done not only to fight loneliness, but also to remember and respect his late mother and wife. According to him, he and his late wife learned to make a cake from the mother. The cookies which Kellner baked were not enjoyed alone. He shared it for the neighbors and the needy.
In the first year, Kellner who lost his wife due to complications related to dementia, managed to bake 144 pies. He went to the funeral homes around his residence and communities to tell that he wanted to connect with a family in mourning or hardship. He met and comfort the families with his homemade cookies.
Kellner was so paying attention to detail. He wants everyone to enjoy his homemade cookies so he always asks to be told if any family member has a certain allergy. Kellner admitted to not discriminating anyone. He wants to share love equally.
"Everyone is my favorite, I love everyone," he said as quoted from the page Today, Thursday (13/4/2017). "I still love people who give me trouble when I face difficult times, I keep making cakes and pies for them, I do not hold a grudge," he continued.
Kellner's magnaminous is derived from his experiences of life. The kindness granpa Kellner was born in 1918 and has been through the Great Depression, the worst period of the economy in the United States. He has experienced wandering and difficulty to find a job.
"I knew how it feels to live a poor life, we often had only eggs and flour that were processed to eat, so as long as I'm still able to do it, I'll do it. Many people donate things, meanwhile I make cookies," Kellner said.
The love that Grandpa Kellner shared has made it to the hearts of many people. He often gets thank-you cards from all over the world. He had a word from someone in Alaska who happened to visit the funeral and tasted the cake Kellner had sent.
No wonder if Kellner is often invited to various meetings or associations and he tried to come and bring the souvenirs of course. Kellner even gladly teach the children of the neighbors to make cookies so they could share the love. "I'm doing it for everyone, I'm trying to be happy, I've never put anyone above or below me, I like everyone and never hate them," Kellner explained.
